Inside Dar Louisa, a luxury holiday riad
Dar Louisa, a luxury holiday riad, is beautifully decorated & filled with contemporary art and beautiful artefacts. A real home from home but better! It has been furnished and decorated with extreme attention to detail, to make your stay feel special.
Both house and garden are the creations of Arnaud Maurières and Eric Ossart, two French architects and garden designers. During their travels in the Atlas Mountains they saw a house being built by locals out of rammed earth. They asked these builders to help with a construction they were working on in Taroudant and learnt the technique. They have become renowned for their rammed earth homes; Dar Louisa being one of them.
Dar Louisa is a luxury holiday riad and has full wifi, TV and DVD player, and BOSE music system. The layout of the house is typical of a moroccan riad. Downstairs there are 2 separate salon rooms facing each other, at either end of the courtyard, both with open fireplaces; great for a cosy night in on the colder autumn and winter evenings. The dining room and kitchen are to one side, hamman and massage room and staff quarters behind.
Upstairs there are 3 double bedrooms, all en-suite, with air conditioning and heating and each with its own private terrace area, There is a further bedroom which has 2 separate sleeping platforms, each with double bed, each accesses via its own staircase – with shared bathroom, and TV/DVD room and dressing area below. There is also a separate atelier / workroom on this floor.
